Roy Metal Finishing Process and Equipment

In 2003, we introduced our first plating line completely free of hexavalent chromium. The new rack plating line, built to meet automotive demands in the southeast US, has both acid zinc cobalt and alkaline zinc nickel plating baths.

In this picture, Adam Brumfield, Quality Manager, inspects the first piece plated with zinc cobalt with a trivalent black chromate with a topcoat. The parts will pass the customer's spec of less than 10% red corrosion to 400 hours of neutral salt spray testing.
