Zinc Acid Chloride Plating

Acid chloride zinc barrel plating has historically been the backbone of our business. We have three automatic hoist machines for barrel zinc plating to numerous automotive specifications and ASTM B633 standards. Barrel zinc plating makes up well over 40% of our business and our capacity allows us to quickly respond to customer needs. These machines work 24 hours, 5 days a week.

Our machines are designed to process small fasteners as well as the large heavy fasteners made of low carbon, high carbon, or leaded steel. We also process light delicate stampings, springs, to heavy stampings where special handling is required to prevent part damage.

Blue bright and iridescent (yellow) conversion chromate coatings are processed on the machine line. On line we have trivalent clear passivates and topcoats to replace hexavalent iridescent chromate and meet the new automotive requirements. We offer trivalent black chromate finishes offline.

Our 3 barrel zinc machines were engineered with the latest programmable control plating technologies and we have 60" X 21", 48" X 21" and 42" X 21" barrel sizes with varying perforations. This ensures we can handle the wide variation of parts required by our customers.

Our operators scan the part number and weight in the computer system and the computer controls the amount of amperage to deliver to the plating barrel. This gives us the capability to plate small lots or large lots at any given time.

Our Acid Zinc rack plating is done at our McDougal facility where we have two large computer controlled hoist lines.  Both lines were constructed for zinc plating ductile iron castings.
