Our Finishing Processes - Other Processes

Hydrogen Embrittlement Relief

We have four large capacity baking ovens for hydrogen relieving. Each oven has a daily circular chart recorder to record oven temperatures. Ovens are calibrated quarterly to ensure consistent temperature. Standard procedure is to have parts at 375-400F temperature for 4 hours. Some customers require longer bake times.

This picture is an example of how we insure that all product is properly hydrogen relieved. Thin trays with 3 inch gaps in between ensure complete and thorough heat recirculation. This is essential to properly certify the process. Our ovens are calibrated and certified every six months.

Passivation

We passivate to QQP-35C. This is a room temperature nitric acid.
